Jake Paul could target Tommy Fury rematch in the UK next as he recovers from broken jaw sustained against Anthony Joshua

Jake Paul is to resume his boxing career later this year after surgery on his broken jaw and could target a rematch with Tommy Fury in the UK.

Paul will hold talks about boxing next in the UK and a rematch with Tommy Fury will figure in those discussions.

After losing to Anthony Joshua up at heavyweight, Paul, who is a natural cruiserweight, could look to avenge his defeat to Tommy Fury, the brother of Tyson Fury, who edged him out on points in 2023.

Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions with Paul, told Your Site: "He wants to prove to the world that he can beat Tommy Fury.

"Jake before Joshua had one loss on his record and that was Tommy Fury and I would love for that fight to happen because I think it's a great barometer of how far Jake has come.

"I don't think he [Fury] has developed as much as Jake has over the last three years. Because he hasn't been as focused on boxing.

"I would love for that fight to happen."

Paul went six rounds with former unified heavyweight champion Joshua, but suffered a broken jaw in that stoppage defeat.

However, he should return to the sport later this year and could look to box in the UK.

"He wants to come back. He's asking me to start negotiating some fights," Bidarian revealed. "I think anywhere from August to November you can expect Jake Paul to be back in the boxing ring. I want him to come to the UK and fight. That's what I would love to see.

"That's really going to be a part of the conversation. I would love for Jake Paul to come do a fight in the UK."

Paul is an unconventional prizefighter. The Youtube star has fought UFC champions and a 58-year-old Mike Tyson but defied expectations to go rounds with Joshua.

Rather than the demolition that some predicted, Bidarian thinks the Joshua fight can remake Paul as a boxer.

"I think he did well against Joshua, on four weeks' preparation for someone of that stature," Bidarian said.

"I think he realises he has a lot more work to do. Even as simple as cardio. His cardio, if it had held up he probably would have made it to eight rounds, but he ran out of gas and Joshua caught him. In a weird twist, I think losing to Joshua will help Jake Paul long term."

A rematch with Tommy Fury could be another blockbuster event for him.

"There was more internet interest in Jake Paul versus Tommy Fury in the UK than any Tyson Fury fight over the past five years, than any Jake Paul fight other than Mike Tyson over the past five years and that includes Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua. And that was a fight that happened in Saudi Arabia," Bidarian said.

"So if I could do that fight in the UK or somewhere in Europe, I think people would go bananas for it - the youth, the generation that uses the internet.

"It's difficult to come to someone's country and do that so we'll see where we end up on that discussion but I would love to do a fight in the UK with Jake. I think it would be a big statement."

Watch the Caroline Dubois vs Terri Harper bill live on Your Site on Sunday April 5.
